Looking forward to seeing the finished product. I had a 66 Chevelle SS clone with a 468 c.i. big block and a 4 speed. I really like the design of this era of Chevrolet.

Keep us up to date Manny, I think this one will be very nice.

If that is a real 138 model SS396 convertible, I am sure the purists will cry foul. I've been a musclecar guy all my life and what this car is getting just makes it. We had an original paint '67 Malibu. If we still had it, the car would be getting LS power for sure.

nice murray, make any passes with it ?

I once passed a gas station but ran out shortly afterwards!! No Doug I never made a full pass with it, I should have given it a go. I will see if I can dig up a few pictures for the 12th.

I was at a cruise night in Brampton one night and these guys were hanging around the car. I was a little suspicious and kept an eye on them. Finally the one guy asked if it was mine and just like that they bought it. I had not ever thought about selling. Still think it was weird. Never saw the car again.

Sorry Manny for sneaking in on your thread, I know that is a no no. :nono:

Take care.

This is a 1 of 3434 , its a real documented 396SS Ragtop .

Truth be known, the L34 and L35 cars were not all that impressive in stock form. Even our old L78 Chevelle might turn 13.3s on a good day. Any of the newer Corvettes are considerably quicker than that. LS power can only make things better, much better than most. It is definitely the way I will go if I ever get into the musclecars again.
