A Petro-Canada engineer told me that if your put winter grade gas in you don’t need fuel stabilizer unless storing more than 6 months. I’ve never used it and never had a problem.
I spent $6250 plus tax for full body PPF on my new 911 this summer at what was supposed to be the best shop in the GTA - The Refinery. It is a total butcher job (dirt, bubbles, adhesive lines) and a complete waste of money. This was my first and last PPF job!
When I saw your post about working for Audi I, I was going to ask you about paint issues on new cars. I was really shocked with the blemishes on my new 911 and at seeing the Z06 issues in this thread. I guess I thought that buying a more expensive car would mean you wouldn’t have to deal with...
I suspect that some of that differential is because you are comparing a limited production Audi that is 12 years old to a more mass produced Corvette that is current. The 2 to 3 times MSRP of the Audi plays a role too. Still, those are pretty shocking numbers on the Audi.
Good point, however I am sure that the extended production year and MSRP of the C7 ZR1 helped justify that car. I'm not sure that a GS would do the same...but we'll see! I would guess that if they are indeed producing a GS, it will come out for at least a couple of years - especially if...
I ended up having the entire car polished because of the poor quality. Being black…everything shows. I ended up ppfing the whole car to help prevent future marks. I won’t take another car off of any dealer’s lot in the future without going over it with a bright light. My spots didn’t show...
Not a Corvette, but I had similar spots on my 2024 911. 8 or 9 tiny bubbles in the clearcoat. I’m not impressed that the car left the factory like it did.
First run was for 4 years, second for 3.
Even with all the parts available with tweaks to software, wiring harnesses and emblems etc., I just don't see a 1 year model happening. They wouldn't cover the marketing costs with one year.
I’d likely jump at a Grand Sport too. I just prefer that body style over the Stingray and I don’t need the Z06 power. I picked up my new base Carrera in July. Owning a brand new 911 was a bucket list item for me, so I figured that I’d better get one before I was totally priced out of that market!
True…that is called inflation. GM chose to increase prices more than inflation last year and that combined with the lux tax and high interest rates took a toll on demand. Increasing prices and selling fewer cars only raises true profit when fixed costs are fully absorbed at the lower volumes...
Absolutely correct! I had a 2012 Grand Sport that I bought new. I get GM going in the EV direction with the C8, but I’m not sure the demand will be there as many other manufacturers are finding out.
