Hey Norm - Just a quick question:
Can you hear it working and just won't squirt? There are rebuild kits available but i re-did mine with O-rings from my master kit (Cheap) in 2016. Works fine today :)
Just throwing it out there is all.
Hmm - Have a look:

Bro - depending on your budget and what type of power you want to run through the rear differential, there are options out there. Sometimes I wish mine blew up so I have a reason the change the gear ratio :) There's a lot of stock replacement options there and maybe that works for you.
Hmm not sure if I like it broken up like that. The first pic I posted has it run through all the way to the back and one continous motion. The total blacked out hood idea may provide the same appeal but I don't know paint etc.
So on my 72 BB I was only able to take the pancake LS6 intake for so long. I needed the engine to breathe and let some heat out. So on went an RPM Air-gap and had to put a repop L-88 hood on.....and it "Barely fits" with a drop base air cleaner. I mean 1/4 tops.
My original BB hood is hanging...

This is going to sound stupid but have a quick look down the cigarette lighter socket. See if it looks damaged/slightly melted. Also, see if there’s a coin that is sitting in the bottom of it. More common than you think and I’ll try to dig up a waiting diagram tonight.
Just my $.02 is all. Why don't you pull the engine and rebuild it? I see you have already replaced heads (Not sure what you mean by domes unless you mean pistons but that's not top end)
When you mean partial engine do you mean short block?
Heya guys/gals,
Sorry if this is in the wrong spot but I do not see a parts section.
Looking for a short hood (1968-1972). Doesn't matter if it's SBC, BBC, or L88. Need to make a hole and cutting into my orginal BB hood is not an option.
Thanks ladies and gents!
Ryan
