    Front Lift OPTION--Owners Poll

Opted not to get it. Same experience as ontcanuck. I've touched very few times, and always the air deflector in front of the tire, not the splitter. Was on a road in the US with very large speed bumps one after another for blocks. No issue, just approach/exit on a slight angle if in doubt. I...

    C8 Alignment

There was guy on another forum who ran 10 days or so a year at the Nurburgring, and also did a lot of touring in his C8. He ran -1.5F, -1.3R and the pics of his tires at the end of the season looked great! Very even wear on the stock PS4Ss. Scott said he was running -1.0 on his C4 and a doing a...

    C8 Alignment

I agree. There is an element of trust involved if you can't see what's going on or see the screen.

    C8 Alignment

Yes, sat in the car while he did it. I think it can make a very small difference. We also put it on the scales to check the cross weights to see if it would benefit from adjustment. No adjustment needed. 50.2% with me in it and about 6/10ths fuel.

    C8 Alignment

Just had my C8 aligned. My thanks to Scott Murfin at CanAlignment who did a great job! I went with GM track specs, but with less aggressive camber, front toe to zero, without relocating the washers. Having done many cars before, I wanted a street/track compromise that wouldn't result in...

    OnStar Theft Alarm Notification

Had it happen while working in my garage, and I bumped the car with my leg. Didn't take much. The vibration sensor or whatever it was that triggered the OnStar alert seems very sensitive.

    Almost had our car stolen?

This experience isn't going to stop us from road tripping with our car, we'll just be more aware and cautious.

    Almost had our car stolen?

These guys were on our car in less than 2 minutes. I'm sure in addition to the OBD tool the guy had, they also likely had every tool needed to defeat any anti-theft device they would encounter in the back of that CRV. Reading more on it thieves are disabling OnStar in minutes. Just bought 2...

    Almost had our car stolen?

Took a road trip to Chicago with my wife for a few days. On the last day we went to a beach. Lot was about half full, we parked off to the side where there were no other parked cars. Walked to the pay station, and realized I forgot my wallet. Turn around and see a Honda CRV pull in and park...

    PPF and ceramic coating

I'm very much liking the Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic line. The Ceramic Spray Coating supposedly lasts 9-12mos according to many accounts, and I've also gotten great results from the other products in the line like the Ceramic Wash, Wet Wax, and Detailer. My car looks clean after a rainstorm and...

Issues with front mud "flaps" rubbing on tires

There is a lot of sketchy design in the aftermarket where solutions are not as well engineered as at the factory (not engineered at all?), and you take your chances. Two examples with the C8 IMO are exhausts (no heat shielding), and wheels. There are very few aftermarket wheels I've seen for the...

    Cat-Back Exhaust & Warranty

I posted in another thread about exhausts. I'd be careful with aftermarket exhausts other than Borla because most lack heat shielding that matches OEM standards. I believe the only aftermarket exhaust offered by GM is a Borla. Short term this is likely fine, but long term heat soak can cause...

    Annoying driver behaviour

I agree re:driver skills. For me I really notice 2 things: poor awareness when changing lanes, and drivers forcing themselves in to merge at the last possible moment rather than trying to merge as soon as they see the lane ending.

Looking for the best z51 brake pads

My guess with regard to the computer controlled fade system would be that it would only activate in instances of fade/low friction, and that you would be far more likely to activate the system using a lower temp/lower friction pad, such as a low dust ceramic, in a high performance driving...
