OK do me a favour in a totally non-scientific way... Open a new tab, make sure you're logged in, disable auto refresh and stay on what's new page->recent posts for next 2 mins. I will post from my test account to this thread.

I think there's a bug where it won't consider your own posts appropriately so that's an issue for sure. Beyond that I'd love to hear more details as I can't reproduce this on my end yet i.e. how are you testing, browser, OS etc.
