For the record, you are not required to replace the external DCT canister filter at the 3 year service mark for a 2023 model. Only the fluid needs changing. You can verify this in your owners manual. You are required to change the canister filter for the first time at 12000km.
In your case...
It's sad how combining two seperate service items dealing with similar procedures gives you zero savings at the dealer. The whole thing should have cost half of what you paid, at most. I would say that for most people buying a service plan is worth it.
Kudos to you for keeping up with the...
"not healthy,it is"
That's my vote.
Sounds like that transmission needs a new flux capacitor.
Just in case the issue turns out to be something else, please keep us posted. I am soon going to change the fluid on mine, no issues so far at the three year mark.
For those in MB and SK, check out Marsollier Petroleum. Paid $250 all in for 24 bottles. That works out to $10.42 per bottle. The dealer wanted $28 a bottle.
They have a website if you want to find the nearest dealer.
"Don't worry Sir, our engine Dyno always reads low. 200 HP is nothing to worry about! And don't forget to take your box of extra engine parts home. Thanks for coming and have a Great Day!"
Wonder what happens if the "engine builder kinda-sorta-ok-not-really" customer over torques a bolt? Toss it in the pile and start over? And what if the crescent wrench slips off and some knuckles get scraped?
I like the towel idea, might try that. Hope I remember to remove the towel afterwards lol.
I would advise against blocking the engine vents permanently, they are there for a reason. Too much heat isn't going to make the engine perform any better...
I too will do my own filter when the time comes, likely the spring of 2027.
However I will not get the filter from Amazon no matter what the price. Too many cheap knockoffs sold by crooks.
Buy the filter from GM, you are saving a ton of money anyway doing the work yourself.
Just my 2 cents...
I recommend the purchase of a decent battery charger (not maintainer). It's well worth the cost and they will often diagnose battery issues. Dead batteries are not always easy to bring back to usability and I would not rely on the car's charging system.
