    What happens when a tire blows

    Wow, that is scary! Good to know and will definitely monitor more closely. Plan on upgrading all my suspension bushings and shocks to see if I can get it to drive less like a tank. Will make sure I'm set to a zero camber. Tires are new.

    Very fine metal particles from wear over the years can also turn the oil to a greyish color. Try a magnet on the old oil to see if there are any metal particles of concern.

    C3 question

    While your in there, you should check the rubber boots that connect the vents to the outside to drain out water. They are most likely rotten and you will have water leaking to the inside. New ones available from many of the suppliers.
