Yup,, BMW Z 1, 8000 built from 1989--1991. The doors drop down into the sills. Has a composite body just like us and officially not available in North America.
You do not have to remove the tx pan to change the fluid or external filter....
The underbody panel needs to be removed and uses the same bolts for reinstall.
I think it's time to have a serious chat with the dealer and educate the service writer.
From what I have read on the forums and my letter from GM is that only the fluid needs to be changed at 3 years regardless of mileage.
I would change the external filter again at that time. I have had the free filter change last year at 12.000 kms.
A friend just had his 3 year service done...
I've had one for about 5 months ....It is set to sport 5. There is a noticeable difference in throttle response.
Have not had an occasion to try the lockout for the gas pedal. It is only accessible from the phone app.
I have thought about what to do if the lock out screws up....I guess you...
If you were only getting the filter change that is free in the 1st 3 years or at 12.000 kms. that price is high for just a filter change.
Or were you getting the 3 year fluid change ?
I went with Continental DWS06 on my 18 ZO6....Quieter and smoother ride , but they aren't run flats.
On my Eray I just switched from the summer only tires to Michelin sport all season run flats..
Treadwear went from 300 to 540.
