Tires Tires & more Tires !??

I have had several sets of the Michelin Pilot Sports 4S (summer only) on my C7s and they were very good tires except once the weather got cold they were a hand full when pushed letting go very abruptly if not fully warmed up which takes a good 30 minutes of driving in the cold. Michelin cautions...

CAA $1500 Corvette theft insurance surcharge

I just renewed with Northbridge via my insurance broker for $1270 for 2022 C8 HTC. Part of a full package of 2 cars and house. Accident and conviction free for decades. Full, full coverage i.e. accident forgiveness, uninsured motorist, rental car if car damaged etc. $2500 deductible.

CAA $1500 Corvette theft insurance surcharge

I moved both car and house to Northbridge Insurance several years ago. Very competitive, only complaint is that my SUV (Porsche Macan) is expensive, double the C8, but total package is very good.

    What should I pay for a used C8 2020-2022

Used Corvette prices are very subject to local conditions and prices vary widely even within provinces. There are some good deals to be had on new left over 2024 models at some of the larger Ontario dealers. Many of those units have been sitting in "storage" over the winter and dealers will...

    Adaptive Cruise Control

In my most recent daily driver (Porsche Macan GTS) adaptive cruise was only available with one of Porsche's many option packages. I had no interest in the package and no interest in paying extra for adaptive cruise control so did not take the package. Porsche makes Corvette look like amateurs...

    Adaptive Cruise Control

Another question is do you prefer adaptative cruise control or the old fashioned style? I am of two minds and have had both. I found with adaptive if I was not paying close attention I would get behind someone a fair distance away and my speed would gradually reduce to below where I wanted to...

    Adaptive Cruise Control

You need to drive it for awhile for the oil life indicator to update itself. Not sure how long it takes but as a general rule it declines by roughly 10% per month whether you are driving or not but as I said it takes some driving in the spring for it to update.

What type of insurance rates is everyone getting in Ontario?

Yep as long as we had a minimum of two cars insured I could reduce the Corvette but when we went to two cars including the Corvette we were no longer eligible for the "muti car discount" when I reduced the Corvette coverage.

    New C-8 Snow Tire Corvette

Had a friend who had numerous Corvettes over the years including a C8. He had put Michelin Alpin snow tires on both his C7 and C8. He never deliberately drove in major snow but regularly drove in cold weather and didn't hesitate when the roads were wet or when there was a light snow falling...

What type of insurance rates is everyone getting in Ontario?

In addition to the usual factors such as car value, your driving record and your address there are many other optional coverages that impact rates. 1. Depreciation waiver - you get the lesser of what you paid or what a new car costs. 2. Accident and conviction forgiveness - you get to have one...

    Harlan Charles gone from GM.

Sad to see Harlan go as he was a fantastic ambassador for the brand and a good friend to all of us enthusiasts. However, we need to remember that GM is just like any huge corporation. Developing and strategically moving executives is like a giant chess board as you shuffle the pieces around the...

Best place in GTA to do alignment on a 2019 Grandsport that knows how to adjust rear camber ?

Had my 2019 Grand Sport done at Humberview Chev on Queensway. They never even blinked when I told them what I wanted. They have a performance parts counter so are used to seeing Corvettes. They sell 40-50 Corvettes a year so you see lots of Corvettes in their service area, especially C7s and C8s.

    Canadian ZR1 Pricing

Sadly many people who are new to the in "high demand, low supply" car world don't realize how the allocation system works. I spoke to someone a few months ago who was planning on ordering a new Z06 and wanted to place the order through his mid size local dealer. He has owned several Corvettes in...

    Canadian ZR1 Pricing

I know PP has heaped scorn on the lux tax but I'll wager a donation to this forum that he will not do away with the lux tax. Politicians of all stripes are great at telling us what we want to hear when they have no power but they change the minute they are in power.
