Front lift - change fluid procedure?

Anyone use one of these GDS2 tools to perform the front lift bleed? As per "ipcard's" PDF instructions above. Is the tool actually necessary to perform this procedure properly? Also, does anyone know if there is a bleed screw on each shock? I presume so due to that location being the low point...

Front lift - change fluid procedure?

@Murray20c8 The Essential Service Package does NOT include front lift brake fluid change. I have the package, so I am very aware of what it covers. So is my dealer. Having said that, all dealers are most confused by this service package, as it is still relatively rare. Did you manage to get...

Front lift - change fluid procedure?

Thank you so much @ripcard ! Looks like some GDS2 OBD2 analyzer tool is required to actuate the procedure? So maybe not as simple as a regular brake bleed? Did you per chance perform this procedure yet yourself?

Front lift - change fluid procedure?

Hey Guys, The 2020MY are now hitting the 5-year mark. My 2020 owners manual specifies to change the DOT4 brake fluid in the brake and lift system at the 5-year mark. Brake bleed is easy. But I can not find a procedure to drain/flush the front lift system. The brake fluid is hellishly...

    First Oil Change?

Normally I would not step into this, but I just ‘hafta. So you got offended about some crappy blackout, chewed out members here, but completely ignored the VERY useful replies like mine. OK, know that it is YOU who is being offensive by focusing on chewing out those pointing out a fail, while...

    First Oil Change?

Not true as the blanket statement was presented. Only the large ones, which tend to be the most destructive. Proof: drain your oil and see the metallic sheen on it. Those are tiny suspended metal flakes too small for the filter to catch. Millions of them. For the OP: The answer is YES. I...

    Garage lighting upgraded - WOW

Thanks Murray! I think yours, the ShopLED brand, and other same-looking ones, are all made in the same China factory. They seem to come in different light output and color configurations from the same guys. And they use the same photos in their ads. I just refreshed, and the ShopLED seller...

    Garage lighting upgraded - WOW

So I finally went to purchase these Amazon LED 48" tubes linked above, but they are GONE. Wish I had not waited, but did for logistics reasons. Anyone know of another source for these tubes? The 5000K and ~4500-5000lumen output? Thanks for your input.

    What is a "Corvette Guy"?

Corvette guy definition: Wearing a black T-shirt with a large cartoon logo of a Vette spinning wheels on back, and small logo on front. That is the typical uniform. Usually found at car shows and coffee meets. Even when they graduate to a C8 from their C3. If you do not have that T-shirt, you...

    Weatherstrip Lubricant

NO! NO! To dielectric grease. Bad for rubber. And sticky as hell. Why would anyone rub grease on, only to get it transfered onto your clothes, and attract dirt? GM recommendation is bogus. GM makes a specific weatherstrip emulsion. Get it from your local chevy dealer. That is the ONLY thing you...

    Do not use fuel stabilizer!

To demistify this: Fuel stabilizer will not hurt anything. At least the name-brand stuff that has been vigorously tested. Fuel without stabilizer, if top grade, will last at least 2 years without stabilizers. If you have water in your fuel, or do not top up often in cold moist environments...

    Do not use fuel stabilizer!

Service guy is correct on this. Fuel stabilizer = NOT required. You are not using grandpa’s gas these days. Methanol = required IF you have water in your gas and it is freezing, so that it stays as a liquid and can be burned. Pretty simple.
