    Nose support rod

Have to agree with Graham, my brace fits well under the lip of the front panel. Given the long adjustment slot, significant variances were expected in factory - would appear that yours is at one of the extremes of those.

My 75 is still in hibernation but I will have a look this weekend and see how it compares...

    Turn signal repair

76 and prior used a single screw thru the base of the lever to the signal switch - but you need to remove the horn pad, steering wheel and any lock mechanism to access it. 77 and up used a spring loaded design that would pull out with a good yank. if that is the style, you may have enough of...

    Turn signal repair

What year of C3? 1977 and up used a very different style than earlier due to the dimmer switch moving from floor to column.

Question I have a 1978 The transducer appears to be in need of replacement. A transducer that I found is very expensive! I am trying to obtain an adapter to

Transducers were not cheap even back in the day that they were still used; cant think they would have changed in pricing since. As for the adapter, you may want to check your cable lengths and possibly replace one of the cables with that of an earlier year - many (like my 75) were two piece...

Shades of things to come. Mass. bans gas autos by 2035

Could not help but think of the lyrics to Rush's "Red Barchetta" - is the "motor law" coming???

    Mystery (a/c) Electrical connector

Not a hundred per cent sure about all three but if it is not melted internally, there should be continuity across at least two of them.

    Mystery (a/c) Electrical connector

Took me a few minutes to recognize it (haven't seen one since my parts-guy days 20 years ago ) but that is a thermal limiter fuse. Paraphrasing a bit, but when there is improper refrigerant flow, causing too high a temp, the normally open pressure switch will close and send current to this fuse...

    Unplugged Wire Under Dash

OK, that group of wires is from the turn signal switch. According to my service manual, that unplugged wire is the power connection to the key buzzer. The brown wire it is molded to is the ground for the same switch. Possibly former owner did not like the buzzer and killed it by unplugging??

    Tachometer

Interesting... was winter prepping my 75 last week, making sure antifreeze was to strength and putting stabilizer in the gas. Was about -10 in the garage, started up to circulate fluids and noted my tach was not working. Warmed car up and heater on, tach started working. Seems to be a temp...

At what age and why did you buy a Corvette?

My first job out of high school was at the local small town GM dealer - parts counter, service writer, whatever needed doing. Being a rural setting, the bread and butter was pickups and family cars - the odd Camaro or Firebird but no Corvettes - we still got all the Vette sales materials and I...

    Need some recommendations...

Thanks for the suggestion, appreciate the response. Lars is an option but I thought I might try locally first: not sure what type of hassles one might have with the border and/or things going missing in shipping. This would not be an easy thing to replace...

    Do you need blinker fluid?

Used to work in Parts for a GM dealer out of province - some of our shop techs had a wicked sense of humor. Had a part time shop kid that came in after school hours who was not very knowledgable about vehicles and the techs knew it. Once they sent him to the other GM dealer across the street...

    Need some recommendations...

My 75 has been sitting for many years, and because of that there have been a number of things that need attention. I am not afraid to tackle most of them (forums like this are invaluable) but I know my limitations - and carbs are one of them. Looking for some recommendations of competent...

    Pinion seal

So finally got my 75 to a point where I could get it on the road to see what other repairs might show up. Promptly found my rear pinion thinks its Leduc#1, puking oil badly. I've read the GM service manual, they advised bracing diff then removing front diff bracket to frame before removing...
