I would have done the very same thing as you have based on that info.

    Mystery (a/c) Electrical connector

Cool, That makes some sense as it was hanging off an a/c pipe. So if I put a meter on it there should be continuity between all three posts?

    Mystery (a/c) Electrical connector

Hi legends, I’m sure somebody here can IDENTIFY and EXPLAIN this electrical connection that joins my a/c compressor +ve power supply (dark green) what the wiring diagram I have says is the low pressure switch. Apologies for my electrical ignorance in advance.

    Quadrajet rebuild kit advice

I’ll let the neighbours sleep in and test it in the driveway to see if when I rev it it the point that the secondaries are opened if indeed vacuum is reduced enough to release the pull off and allow the secondary air doors to open (though dampened by the pull off itself) 🤞

    Rochester Quadrajet vacuum pull offs

I’d consider reassembling the Carby then try and test it as a whole unit. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Yeah you’re correct. My problem is that it was warmed up plenty and it’s only the primary choke that’s controlled by the temperature controlled spring. My problem was the secondary choke flaps. I expected the vacuum controlled relay that holds the secondary choke flaps shut to relax from a drop...

Started 2nd crank, took it for a drive and it goes like a rocket. Only issue was the secondary air flaps/choke not opening up on hard acceleration (AKA tunnel mode). Temporary fix by disconnecting vacuum relay that holds them shut. TBC but happy for now.

Woooonhooo! I got it! Thank you sir, it may have been 30 years but you’ve still got it 🔥

    Quadrajet rebuild kit advice

Yes what you’re suggesting sounds correct. I just can’t see down in there to tell if there is a hole in the lever as you described that the rod slips into. I’ll keep trying. In the exploded diagrams I’ve found I can’t see any hole. 🙏

Can Anyone describe how the lower (internal) end of the primary choke flap linkage connects to the lower linkage down inside the body? 🤦🏻‍♂️
