Can you say which dealer that is? I'll need to get the DCT filter done soon under the maintenance package, and would prefer a hassle-free experience in London.
For us, it was a weekend trip to Vegas to do a bunch of other things as well. She watched some of the car stuff, but was mostly content to sit in the sun or work on her laptop while I was in the course. Not too terribly different than if we were at a hotel that day.
It was pretty close to 4 when we were on the road back to Vegas. You can of course skip the final debriefing and maybe get out 30-45 minutes earlier, but we stayed to get the full experience (and I also bought the picture package).
Because this has been so horribly communicated and managed by GM, it's quite possible that the original owner and/or dealership thought that the free DCT service had to be done with the first oil change (and of course the dealer would be inclined to push for extra work whenever possible). But...
The warranty most folks are getting here is for 7 years, for ~$2500.
To answer your question, It's a different for everyone. One thing is almost certain, GM isn't losing money selling extended warranties, so on average, it doesn't pay. But that doesn't necessarily make it a bad deal. Lots of...
At least maybe they realized their mistake on the huge 2024 increase on the Stingray and might let it get back closer to 'normal' via small or no increases for a few years.
I'm not trying to be a dick here, just an honest question, but did you ask what the service was going to cost before approving them to do it? Maybe I'm just a cheap-ass, but I would definitely want to know that before I let anyone do any work that I'm on the hook for.
That's what I have ... very happy to have the 'old' infotainment, but isn't the DCT change just a different case, i.e. no changes to the internals that might increase reliability?
Apparently a hygenic door opener tool

The $40k luxury tax is a Quebec thing, not federal, so you can't blame Trudeau. The federal luxury tax is the one that kicks in over $100k.
I see that cars over 3,000kg are exempt from the Quebec tax, so if your next vehicle is a Hummer you can likely avoid it :)
