    carburetor recommendations for stock 62

    Whats wrong with it? Just about any Carburetor can be made to work just fine unless it's been in a fire. If it is the original you should have it restored by someone who knows how.

    timing chain

    If you are suggesting not changing the crank sprocket, that is not good procedure installing a new chain on an old sprocket. Removing the lower sprocket is not that difficult. I would install the Cloyes or equivalent "Truck set" double chain and sprockets. Overkill but thats just me.
