So a stock 2025 ZR1 just hit the dyno over at Paragon Performance, and the results are kinda wild. It put down 1,028 horsepower and 839 lb-ft at the wheels. Not crank—wheels.
That means GM’s 1,064 hp claim is actually way low. Once you factor in drivetrain loss (10–12%), this thing’s probably pushing close to 1,180 hp at the crank. That’s insane.
Looks like GM’s being super conservative with the official numbers, probably to make sure every ZR1 hits the mark no matter the conditions—track heat, altitude, bad fuel, whatever. But toss it on a dyno with ideal temps and boom—you get the real story.
Honestly, it’s kinda brilliant. Underpromise, overdeliver. Plus it builds a bit of mystique, right?
And that’s just the base ZR1 we’re talking about. If this is what the LT7 twin-turbo V8 is doing in stock form—over 1,000 to the wheels—who knows what GM has up their sleeve for the upcoming ZR1X. There’s a real chance we’ll see a different tune, maybe even more boost, and then throw in electric assist on top of that? We could be looking at something seriously next-level.
